ABOUT

I've always loved taking photos since I was a kid. Photos of friends, pets, family, events, nature, anything that catches my eye. For work I'm a computer nerd working with large databases and business intelligence solutions for the past 30+ years. I have played trumpet since 4th grade and have been in one of the largest adult marching bands since 1986. At a past employer I was also the photographer for events, our other offices and anything else they needed photos for. In my band I take photos during the parades every year (which means I have a camera hanging around my neck and a trumpet in my hand). I live in the Portland, Oregon area, which is so awesome! Within a short drive we have a wonderful downtown next to a river, farms, mountains, high desert, and amazing beaches. There are so many things to take photos of sometimes I have a hard time picking!

My passion with photography is capturing a feeling, a mood. That can be a beautiful sunrise/sunset, a moody black and white photo, nature looking amazing, and all kinds of other things. I also love creating something from nothing, meaning the original photo wasn't that exciting but I was able to find the excitement in it and pull out the wow.

I enjoy a wide range of photos. Landscape and sunset photos are my favorite, but I also love black and white, animals, catching people in the moment, and a lot of other things.

Another thing I enjoy is helping others learn about photography. I will be using my blog to share how I took and edited the photo, as well as tips I’ve learned. If you have any questions about my photography or photography in general, just let me know, I'm happy to help!
